Helping You Speak Freely — With Confidence, Creativity & Compassion

Supporting adults, teens, and stroke survivors since 1990

(Yes, I’ve been doing online coaching since 2015 — before it was trendy!)

You’re Not Alone – I Understand What You’re Facing

Finding your voice—whether after illness, in a new stage of life, or just in day-to-day conversations—can feel overwhelming. I've supported hundreds of individuals just like you, and I understand how hard it can be when:

  • You feel misunderstood or dismissed when trying to express yourself

  • Speaking in front of others brings anxiety or embarrassment

  • You wonder if you’ll ever feel confident in interviews, at work, or even in prayer

  • You’re recovering from stroke or trauma and struggling to connect like you used to

  • You’ve been told you're "too quiet" or "not clear," and now you hesitate to speak at all

You Deserve to Be Heard — And Understood

Since 1990, I’ve worked with students and young adults who struggle with social anxiety, confidence, and finding the right words in real-life situations.

Through creative conversation tools like Talkabout, Comic Strip Conversations, and storytelling prompts, I help clients build confidence in school, at home, or in the workplace.

Whether it’s preparing for presentations, navigating friendships, or feeling “frozen” in social situations—I create a safe, structured space where growth is possible.

If you or someone you love is recovering from a stroke, brain injury, or neurological condition, I offer gentle, non-clinical coaching to support communication confidence.

We work on everyday language, clarity, memory support, and expressing your thoughts again—your way, at your pace.

No waiting lists, no pressure—just personalised sessions from the comfort of home, helping you connect with loved ones again.

Many of my clients come to me because they feel anxious about speaking at work, in interviews, or in public—even though they have so much to say.

Whether it’s a stammer, fear of “going blank,” or lack of structure in how you speak—I help you develop clarity and confidence.

Together, we create a step-by-step plan that fits your goals, helping you speak with ease at school, in church, in meetings, or online.

What My Clients Say

The right support can make all the difference—and sometimes it’s not about formal therapy, but about having someone truly listen, understand, and guide you with care and clarity.

My communication coaching sessions take place online, so you can relax in your own space, without the pressure of a clinical setting. I use creative tools, simple strategies, and 30+ years of experience to help you (or your loved one) grow in confidence, connection, and clarity—one conversation at a time.

We have benefited enormously from Speech therapy with Bev from my son's assessment input and therapy has been A*. I have also benefited from Bev's expertise to help my speech clarity.

Each person is treated as an individual and speech therapy is tailored to their specific needs. Bev is very competent and skilled in her profession and you know without doubt she will be able to help with whatever speech difficulty you may encumber.

I call on Bev when and where needed.

The Step by Step approach allowed Maria to overcome her speech difficulties and pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

The calm and relaxing nature of Bev, reassured Jo and he enjoyed the challenges and opportunities to express his ideas. His carer felt that the continuity has helped him with the routine and built his confidence and developed his language hugely. Working online is highly recommended due to the convenience and time-saving benefits.

1. What is communication coaching and how is it different from speech therapy?

Communication coaching focuses on helping you (or your child) build confidence, express yourself clearly, and overcome communication challenges—without the formality or clinical process of therapy.

While I bring over 30 years of experience as a former speech and language therapist, I now work in a non-clinical coaching role. I don’t provide formal assessments, diagnoses, or reports. Instead, I guide you with practical tools, creative exercises, and heart-led strategies that work in real life.

2. Who is this coaching for?

This is ideal for:

Teenagers and adults who stammer or struggle to speak up

People who’ve had a stroke and want to regain everyday communication

Anyone feeling anxious about interviews, public speaking, or expressing themselves

Parents or carers looking for strategies to support a loved one at home

Coaching is suitable for those who need support, encouragement, and creative ideas—but not necessarily clinical intervention.

3. Can you work with children?

My focus is now on older children (age 8+), teens, and adults. If your child is under 8 or needs formal therapy input, I’m happy to signpost you to someone regulated through the HCPC.

4. Do you work with people who’ve had a stroke?

Yes. I offer gentle, supportive coaching sessions online for stroke survivors who want to regain confidence, explore creative communication (like using visuals, keywords, and rhythm), or need help adjusting to new ways of speaking and being understood.

I work best with people who are already medically stable, have a basic communication system in place (e.g., family support, AAC, etc.), and want to move forward emotionally and practically.

5. How do your sessions work?

Sessions are online, friendly, and flexible.
We meet via Zoom for 30 minutes or 1 hour. I use visuals, storytelling, repetition, and creative strategies (sometimes drawing or journaling!) depending on your goals.

Everything is tailored to you. I’ll guide you gently—no pressure, no tests.

6. How many sessions will I need?

Most people start with a block of 6–8 weekly sessions, and then review. You're not locked in, and you can stop anytime if life changes or you’ve made the progress you hoped for.

7. Do I need a referral?

Nope. You can just reach out to book a free discovery call. No waiting lists, no red tape.

9. What does it cost?

Sessions start from £60 per half-hour (online only). Payment is taken in advance, and I usually offer blocks of 4 or 8 sessions.

10. Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

Yes—just give me 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full, as that slot has been reserved for you.
